Just like in the human world, in the animal world, responses to snow, cold and ice vary. Some people revive when they can go ice skating, while others would rather crawl inside the heater than to sit in front of it.
In the zoos, in winter, wolves, bisons, camels, common cranes and polar bears have the time of their lives. The elephants remain indoors, close to the heater. A part of the hoofed animals, such as giraffes and several kinds of antelopes, remains inside as well. These animal run the risk of bone fractures, as they can easily slip on ice. Sometimes, animals must remain inside for other reasons. For example because the water that surrounds their outdoor area is frozen, which would make it very easy for them to escape.
