This book is a practical and user friendly book on a large group of exotic animals. It is mainly intended for veterinary students and veterinarians.
But also the general health and nutritional aspects of these animals is addressed.
Other topics are restraint techniques and special equipment needed to treat these exotic animals. Also common surgical procedures, lab values and drug dosages are discussed.
In separate chapters, the various exotic animals are treated, which are: invertebrates, fish, amphibians, crocodilians, snakes, lizard, chelonians, birds, marsupials, mice and rats, ferrets, rabbits, hamsters and gerbils, hedgehogs, guinea pigs, chinchillas and North American Wildlife
Attention is also paid to releasing animals back into the wild, including legislation and regulation, care for orphaned animals and first aid.
